I'm a self employed Computer Technician, and a general all-round geek (seriously - I'm extremely geeky).

I spend most of my time translating most things ancient/koine Greek (three main forms of Ancient Greek: Attic, Ionic, and Koine, and I study all three when I can), and pretty much spend most of my time on the PC. It's where I work, rest and play

And really, that's about it

Hello everybody! I'm glad I found you. Thank you TWTY-Admin for your hard work in correcting the mistranslations of the NT.

I am no computer wiz. I daily discover how truly inept I am. Today, I discovered that my recently crashed/wiped computer can not open pdf's or rar files. And! to make matters worse, I can't get it to download or open an adobe or rar program to fix the problem. Blast!

so, I want to thank you for making it still available to nitwits like me on the webpage!

1 question for today. Where can I find OT corrected mistranslations. I don't want to read what anyone else has to say about the text's meaning, just want to read the text itself. and of course, it needs to be on a webpage for me to be able to read it. (unless you guys have any other ideas)

It just so happens that I'm a Computer Technician by trade, so if you want, if you send us an email by either the email link under my posts, or via the Contact page on TWTY, with a list of your problems and what version of Windows Operating System you have, we should be able to help you with your problems

As with regards to your question, unfortunately I know of no place that has a corrected Tanakh/OT translation without any commentary, especially not in its entirety.

I do have a "Translate the Greek Septuagint" on my to-do list. And despite what people say, the Greek Septuagint/LXX is a pretty damn good translation of the Hebrew, so it wouldn't be too far off.

Obviously not as good as a real translation of the Hebrew Tanakh. And there's quite a lot of things on my "to-do" list, and I wonder whether there's enough time left for me to do them all

Toni, you bring up a really good point. The only way I can think of to obtain an unbiased translation of the original Hebrew would be to do it ourselves. Another brother has attempted to do that using multiple lexicons and, I would suppose, other helps. What he claims to have done, and I have verified part of this for myself, is to have used his lexicons to find the root word for each Hebrew word in a Scripture passage. From that root word, he began his translation into English, so that what he ended up with was a lengthy, more likely-to-be-accurate translation.

Is that a feasible solution for most of us? I doubt it, but it's all I can offer on this matter. Isn't that sad?

I have been searching around on the YY site, looking for a "compilation" of the scriptures presented by the author in the old testament. I only find bits and pieces from page to page and then lots of his explanations.

Has anyone made such a compilation or know if he's made available his translations?

I know James is compiling a translation of already translated sections of YY and translating parts himself. Although, and I am sure he would be the first to admit, he is just kinda starting out and probably needs to redo all the stuff he has already done. Just like TWTY-Admin did when he started out - and still needs to with some books

Thank you for that extensive library of resources. Several of them I was aware of and have used in the past, namely: e-sword, biblos, blue letter, unbound bible, as well as a interlinear bible that I purchased a long while back.

However, If one is going to really search out the oldest, supposedly un-tainted, manuscripts available, all these a fore mentioned tools are disqualified? Am I right? or am I wrong?

and therefore, only the "really expensive" logos original language library is worth anything for fulfilling my purpose. Right or wrong?

I'd rather plunk down the $ for something that will get me to the truth and avoid all the materials that agree with one another but only give me false information.

Don't mean to offend, just trying to weed out the stuff that I've already wasted a lifetime digging through which lead me to believe and defend a lie.
