Finger-likkin Halal in Tescos

Okay. The Halal thing.

More food is getting into our society which is Halal. If you go to a Turkish restaurant you are eating Halal. Tesco and Sainsbury are both stocking Halal meat. If it is not in your basket, then it soon will be, if you are not careful.

So are we to ignore Peter and James when we are instructed to abstain from food sacrificed to idols? If so, why?

If not, what are people doing about it?

I have also read that the statement which says that we should ask no questions of conscience regarding meat purchased in the meat market is a mis-translation, and should be that we should not refrain from asking about meat in the meat market. I don't know about this though.

(Halal is offered to Allah and the prayer over the animal prior to slaughter is said while facing Mecca), incidentally. It is food sacrificed to idols.

So basically, don't buy pre-cooked instant-type meals from Tesco or Sainsbury's.

The fact that we know that this is Halal meat that we're eating, we should definitely avoid eating it at all costs.

Maybe David Cameron will change that with his latest "multiculturalism has failed" speech. LOL. Unfortunately, there's no chance of that happening because he said "We need to be clear: Islamist extremism and Islam are not the same thing."

See if you guys can buy local meat or packaged meat, like from Argentina or something.

It will mostly promote if the meat is Halal because they wants Muslims to see it. If they don't see it they just wont buy it lol. Muslims wont buy meat unless they know it's Halal same as Jews wont buy food unless they know it's Kosha.

We should avoid it - all Halal meat is sacrificial to Allah - it's part of the bloody and inhuman ritual.

But yes, eating accidental Halal isn't gonna kill us - like eating Pork mince and mistaking it for beef or something. If we know we should stand up and be counted - if we don't realise, no need to beat ourselves up over it.

I think that is a pretty sensible reply, Rob.

Hope your day goes well.
