Re: Guests Unable to See Topics

If you're wondering why you can't see topics or posts, then my guess is that you're not signed in, or you haven't registered and therefore can't sign in anyway. Due to the fact that quite a lot of spammer bots have been trying to join the site since its inception, being unable to see any topics othe...

Re: Acts 20:7: The First Day of the Week, or a Sabbath?

It should also be pointed out that the Greek word for "week" - εβδομάδα/ebdomada - isn't used in Acts 20:7, nor actually anywhere in the RC writings. Probably due to the confusion that took place with εβδομάδα/ebdomada and the Roman's 8-day market week. However, I had completely forgotten ...

Re: Earliest Tanak Texts / Fragments?

Well we have to remember that the DSS were found in caves - so who knows what's been hidden and where. Could be some ceramic pots somewhere in the midst of Yisra'el, older than the DSS, that have just been buried deep in an underground cave or chest just waiting to be discovered. As far as I'm conce...

Re: Earliest Tanak Texts / Fragments?

Whilst I think that the DSS are certainly the largest collection of the Tanakh found in antiquity, IIRC, there are a few older Hebrew, and Greek, fragments going quite far back. Oddly, Wikipedia has a good article on this: http://tinyurl.com/65qhwx2 Apparently the oldest known fragment of the Tanakh...

Re: stuck on circumcision...

Just to reiterate an already exhibited point - I am really having trouble finding anything that separates the Covenant Yahuweh makes with Abraham, of which circumcision was a sign, from having Yisra'el as a land-possession. I came across this in Exodus 6:2-8: God spoke to Moshe and said to him, “I ...

New Category & Forum

Due to overwhelming pressure (asked by three people >.>) I've created a new sub-category & sub-forum for people :) Keep things civil, and don't get frustrated if you think you're not being listened to. Quite a common occurrence :) Also moved a few topics into it, so if you think I've delete the ...

Re: Can you lose it...

Good point there Noel. If someone really does "lose their trust in Yah", did they ever really trust Him in the first place? However I think we get the concept of "salvation" a bit wrong - salvation is something you more or less receive upon death. It's pretty much the "clinc...

Re: stuck on circumcision...

Nice reply Noel.

Don't know if anyone will listen, but hopefully they will.

Also, expect a fun post from me in a bit about the Hebrew words (yes -plural) that are translated as "foreigner" or "stranger".

We discovered something more enlightening today :)

Re: Finger-likkin Halal in Tescos

So basically, don't buy pre-cooked instant-type meals from Tesco or Sainsbury's.

The fact that we know that this is Halal meat that we're eating, we should definitely avoid eating it at all costs.

Re: Can you lose it...

I don't think it's a case of Yahuweh "taking our salvation away" - but us giving it up. Yes, it's a gift that Yahuweh gives to us, and which He says He will never personally take it away - however, He never mentions that we can't give it back. Just look at what Esau did - he had an inherit...

Re: Can you loose it...

Good question about the meaning of the word there Nige. Checking the Hebrew, it is the Hebrew Suwr / סור , and according to Strong's it means "to turn aside, depart, depart from away, avoid, to be removed, to come to an end, to take away, to put away, depose, to put aside, retract from, reject,...

Re: Parable of the Ten Virgins

1 Shamu'el 16:14: Now the Spirit of Yahuweh departed from Saul Can Yahuweh's Spirit leave those it once inhabited? Scripture says so. Also notice that Yahushua says "I shall not cast out any who comes to me". Doesn't say that he won't let people walk away. Although I think this is a much...

Re: Parable of the Ten Virgins

There appears to be (I think) two interpretations of what this Parable is being in reference to: 1) The Tribulation, and the bridesmaids representing two different types of people in it; 2) The paralambano/harpazo/harvest/rapture, and the bridesmaids representing the two types of believers at said e...

Thanks toni, and a special thanks to each and every person who has sent me encouraging emails and words over the past few years, especially those who have put up with my mumblings on a daily bases.

Really, without you all, this never would've happened :)

Re: Parable of the Ten Virgins

Yeah, it's kinda celebrating the marriage, despite the fact that the actual marriage hasn't happened.

Kinda like throwing a party when you're 14 about getting a new car, even though you don't even have it yet, lol
