Re: Deuteronomy 12: Not an exception to unclean meats

Hi sestir, thanks for the kind words :) As with regards to ואכלתם, I took ואכלתם as indicating a command due to the context going back to v5, where we have the initial imperfect verb starting the command (תדרשו - you shall seek), then followed by the usual strings of waw+perfect (and you shall go......

Re: Deuteronomy 12: Not an exception to unclean meats

Due to a few constructive comments, I've updated the initial document.

Still at the same link as before: Deuteronomy 12 Commentary

Re: Deuteronomy 12: Not an exception to unclean meats

Ah righty. Well, as I mentioned in the initial post, I was contacted to go through a translation of Deuteronomy 12 (produced by C. Winn, owner of http://anintroductiontogod.com/ , a person I've had many dealings with previously), that apparently showed that there would be a time where we would be al...

Re: Deuteronomy 12: Not an exception to unclean meats

HI Osito,

Is your question with regards to what the commentary was done for, or is there something I need to go through more thorough?

Deuteronomy 12: Not an exception to unclean meats

I was contacted by a reader of TWTY and Facebook friend with regards to a new 'translation' of Deuteronomy 12 that the ever popular CW has done, which apparently shows that in Deuteronomy 12, we have an exception to when people would be able to eat the 'unclean' meats (pig, shellfish). She asked me ...

Re: Question about Habakkuk 3

Hi JNjr, I can confirm that the Wadi Murabba'at Minor Prophets scroll (MurXII - get transcriptions from here ) does indeed include Habakkuk chapters 1-3. However, the Wadi Murabba'at scroll is dated to be around the 100 CE mark, so three centuries removed from 200BCE. There are two other Dead Sea Sc...

Dead Sea Scrolls - Complete Collection

Well, it's taken a while, but I've finally finished the transcription and comparison of the Dead Sea Scrolls Scriptural manuscripts with the Masoretic text. This now allows me to complete a few other projects that've been started but not completed, and to also start a few more projects that required...

Re: τινα - 1 Cor 5:1 [adult content] Who did it?

τινα is placed between the γυναικα (or την γυναικα in Papyrus 46) and του πατρος for emphasis on the fact that it's την γυναικα that's in question. Also, due to the fact that την γυναικα is a definite object, whereas τινα is an indefinite object would mean that the Greek speaker would have no issue ...

Re: Yahushua the Man

I'm afraid that I've never seen nor have I been shown any scriptures that show that Yahuweh did, could, or ever would forsake Himself. Well as I’ve pointed out, Yahushua was actually quoting from Psalm 22. What I find interesting is that only two of the eyewitness accounts record Yahushua as actual...

Re: Do You Believe ...

"I and the Father are one" is interesting. One in thought, one in purpose...but only after Luke 2:40, 52, "40 And the Child (Yahshua) grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. ... 52 And Yahushua increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with Yahuw...

Re: Do You Believe ...

Granted that Yahushua does receive worship, it is not because he is Yahuweh but his proxy. Just as when the captain of a ship is not onboard, the next highest officer receives all the same respect and honors of the captain. He has full command of the vessel and he can do as he pleases with one cave...

Re: Do You Believe ...

I believe that Yahushua was clear when he asked in Matthew 27:46,"...my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Yahuweh cannot forsake himself. Can't He? I'm afraid I couldn't find the Scripture to back up this statement. Yahushua's also quoting Psalm 22, which is a prophecy regarding the crucifixi...

Re: See how long/large/tall letters .. Gal 6:11

I had better wait arguing that the letter to the Galatians was really written by Paul until people have convinced themselves that it is in harmony with the other scriptures of the bible. I'll leave the topic of whether Gal is Pauline or not for a different thread (or possibly through email if you w...

Re: See how long/large/tall letters .. Gal 6:11

I most certainly agree, sestir. Whilst I don't contend that there were forged letters in Paul's name (a most famous one is the forged letter known as "3 Corinthians"), for them to be so many according to scholars is, quite frankly, ludicrous. Especially as they don't apply the same critique they do ...

Re: See how long/large/tall letters .. Gal 6:11

Wow, that was a really quick reply! I obviously have nothing better to do :P Do you think it was forged? It is fine to stay undecided because one should not set an opinion in stone or in a rush. Personally I don't think that 2 Thess is a forged letter. But then, my opinions are very much in contras...

Re: See how long/large/tall letters .. Gal 6:11

If I may troll a little... Hardly trolling when it's an genuine question :) ἴδετε (π)ηλἰκοις ὑμῖν γράμμασιν ἔγραψα τῆ ἐμῆ χειρί see how ____ you letters write my own hand Case 1: (unlikely) Suppose it is letters as in messages on pieces of papyrus.
